Since about 76% of Americans identify themselves as Christian, it’s fairly well accepted that modern American retailers can reference the “12 Days of Christmas” in sales and specials without being seen as “religiously insensitive”.
So why don’t you create a “12 Coupons for Christmas” this holiday season?
You can send it out via direct mail, email, or as part of your holiday newsletter.
Simply create 12 different coupons which expire January 6th … the day generally related to the completion of the celebrated “12 Days of Christmas”.
Depending on your particular sales cycle, begin the coupons anytime after October 1st up until December 25th.
You can even target “Black Friday”, “Cyber Monday” and “After Christmas” sales with very specific and higher-valued coupons so that your customers are more likely to keep hold of them and remember to come visit you on those days.
Cheers to creative couponing and Happy Holidays!
